Oversubscribed In Just The First Week

Who would have thought that within the first week, not one but two of my class slots would be oversubscribed? Thank God for the overflowing abundance and I pray that He gives me the wisdom to be able to handle the excess. Time to order some Ikea stools!

Off To A Great Start!

Praise God for a great 1st session in the garage with the 1st group class to be conducted there. We had a wonderful time exploring the beginnings of learning to play the keyboard and everyone was sporting enough to literally 'play' along.

There were two guests who sat in just to experience a free session and I'm grateful that they are both keen to continue with the course, meaning 2 more new students!

Mel came over later, after I finished the class, with some of the frontage stickers all done. Big thanks to her for sponsoring the cost of making the frontage stickers... a whooping $168 in printed stickers for the shutters! She also did a lot of legwork looking for the hooks that we intend to use with the pegboards and I'm totally blown away by her efforts. I know how difficult it is to look for something that doesn't seem readily available at obvious hardware shops (eg. M3 screws).

Relak One Corner

One of the toughest things to find was a couch to fit the area we hope to designate as the 'Relax Area'. With the workbench and chairs taking up a lot of real estate, there's just not enough room to fit a standard sized sofa.

Thankfully, my contractor Naresh kept an eye open for me and he stumbled upon a possibility today. We shopped around and found that his initial suggestion wasn't really going to work. But as we were driving off, he suddenly recalled a large billboard we passed while driving to the furniture store.

We followed the instructions, made a few wrong turns, and finally ended up in Geylang Lor 23 at Brighton. Thank God he saw the billboard and suggested it because we found what must be one of the hardest sofa to find in Singapore... one that actually is less deep than the standard ones found all over the island.

We managed to gain favour with the people at Brighton and they waived off GST and delivery charges, a savings of about $85. The final cost of the 3-seater sofa was $299. Praise God!

Sofa (and pics of it) to come on Thurs.

1st Weekday Class To Start

Praise God! Got a call today from a person who saw a posting about Scoreless Music on Facebook and went to the site. Also from Revival Centre Church, she called me and signed up for a Wednesday class, together with her friend.

God indeed provides!

Working The Workbench

Finally! Found a working solution to cable organisation for the workbench. It's going to take a halfway decent handyman to get it all fixed up and I'm feeling good about the learning experience. Thank God for creative inspiration and Google!

Pics and links to sites coming soon. (2 more days to the first class in the garage. Woohoo!!)

Blessings Are Flowing, Overflowing...

22 June 2008. Despite not having everything ready, it was an awesome time to be able to share my joy and testimonies with my church family. They gathered all around me and the garage and prayed prayers of dedication and blessings and promises and we all say, "Yes Lord! Yes, amen!"

The very next day, God showed how wonderful and close His hand is in our affairs by bring through the garage doors people that gave monetary support that I'm sure are for a purpose that I will be notified of soon enough.

In a surprising twist of events, an old friend of my mum just happened to find out about the official launch and insisted on coming to offer his support. Of all things, he happens to stay at Punggol and is part of the RC there. Could God be opening yet another door for me? Only time will tell and we will continue to pray for His guidance in all things.
