Profit, By His Hand

Thank God! This is the first month-closing to actually register a profit! With new sign-ups coming for next month, an actual waiting list these days, my afternoons being as packed as my evenings, and an exciting development that will see Scoreless Music spread throughout the world.

God is great and His hand is not short to bless. :D

Free Help and More Students

Praise God that I have two more signups and in the mornings just after BNI too! So even my morning hours are being utilized.

Also at BNI, I got an offer from Yip Khiong who works in a design company to help me design things like company logo and collaterals for free! What a blessing! We took up the offer for Bumbershoot.

Two More Signups!

Thank God for two new signups yesterday. One is for an advanced module.

Going to launch a two week programme called the Basics Concise Module for Youths. Pray that there will be interest in this during the school holidays.

Waiting List!

Praise God! Almost all my available evening slots are now taken and the afternoons are starting to fill up. In fact, there's a need for a waiting list to track people who are interested but have no available slot to start. God is great!

From Insurance To Sales

How amazing is this? A person calls me up to sign up for some insurance plan and ends up being interested in Scoreless Music even after I said I'm not keen on taking up another policy. Looks like I will have some new trial classes coming up!

Still More Students!

Thank God for yet another two signups today! And did I mention a new class of 3 or more starting this Wednesday evening? Also to start are some recording sessions with Ai Ping and friend. Really praying that people are impacted by the things shared in the Garage.

God Makes Highways

This month has certainly seen an increase in phone call enquiries and even trial singups! I just got another two for trial and this Saturday is a full batch of 5-6 trial signups that came in a single group. Praise God!

Other related developments also requiring prayer and dedication indicate a very exciting year-end and 2009! Looking forward to posting more interesting news!

Many New Leads

Thanks to several new friends made at BNI, I now have several leads that look to be very significant. People that are linked to related businesses like christian gift shops and even professional musicians serving in church that are sourcing for good teachers. I'll be meeting one such contact today in a trial class and I pray that favour and wisdom be granted me as I present what I do.

Exciting times ahead!

1st Batch Of Garage Recordings!

Finally got the gear together to do some really rough recordings, a true garage start I believe. The raw acoustic samples can be found at:

http://www.reverbnation.com/scorelessmusic

May they be a blessing to others! These were recorded as samples to be submitted to CSMusic who will then shortlist some to be sent to Integrity. Integrity is looking to produce a local album with locally written songs so who knows? Perhaps this will be the avenue that God uses to bring about what He wants to accomplish thru us.

New Trial Class Done

Thank God for a smooth trial class with interested people. Praying that they'll be keen on signing up for the full course. There's one that's definitely taking it up as long as I have a slot for her and she can even take an afternoon slot! Really hope for more that can fill up those!

Blessed Trial Class

Praise God! Just ran a trial class and at the end of it, all of them were very keen on taking up the course proper. The main organiser of this group also mentioned some other folks that could turn up for a future trial class. God provides!

New Trial Student

Thank God for yet another call! This time it's from Jessie, a church worker like me!, at Bethesda Bedok. She's hoping for a friday evening slot and I pray that God sends more people to sign-up so that we can indeed go ahead with this trial class.

Sunday Sharing

Praise God! Last sunday, I had the opportunity to meet Andy's friend, Peter, and we had a lengthy but fruitful time discussing the Word of God at the garage, specifically touching on the topic of 'Should Christians Tithe?'. I'm glad that Peter left with a much better sense of what the scriptures have to say about tithing, and I do believe that even Andy is seriously considering his response to what has been shown to him from the Word.

May God continue to use me and the garage for discipleship in all things!

More Openings I Believe

Last night, I got the chance to meet a couple from the anime scene who asked me to be one of the witnesses for the ROM, and along the way, I got a chance to tell them what I do at Scoreless Music. After giving them a brief overview and a lesson from Basics, they were keen to help me spread the word around about what I taught. Praise God for sending people my way who have connections!

Walk In The FOG

Last sunday, pastor preached about walking in the FOG (Favour Of God) and we prayed for one another during the altar call. Jeremy prayed for favour to be upon Scoreless Music and guess what? That very evening, a person called saying that his pastor told him about the course and he wanted to register a full class (and possible overflow too with excess people) for 8 Aug!

And just a while ago, I got a call from a lady who also wanted to find out more for a youth group that she believes will be interested. Thanks be to God for all these calls!

Fulfilling Destiny

Praise God! With one thing leading to another, I taught the first bible study held at the Garage. It covered a variety of topics, but most importantly the good news, the full message of the gospel. I pray that the Holy Spirit continues to work in Andy's life as he considers the things we touched on.

Easy Corner Outfitted

Here, as promised, are some pics of the new sofa and side table. Thank God for the great deals, including the clearance sale that Ikea held today. Prices are $299 for the sofa and $12.90 (instead of $19.90) for the side table.

My mum's sponsoring the sofa, yet another blessing for the place. Thanks a mil, Ma!

Now the only bare space is the area next to the big window. We're probably keeping that clear of stuff so as not to crowd the limited floorspace in the garage.

Tell The World...

Kris and I started brainstorming on a publicity campaign for the Scoreless Music course just yesterday, thinking to capitalise on the flow of visitors that will be coming for the special event at our church this Thursday. And God shows up yet again in what can't possibly be just mere coincidence.

One of my old teenage friends who recently re-established contact with me is doing marketing for a big time company and boss. Seems like one of her track records was to spend $15,000 in a campaign to bring about $3,000,000 in returns. And here's the cool thing... Just on the very day, possibly almost down to the very hour that Kris and I thought that we should begin doing some marketing for Scoreless Music, she tenders her resignation and writes to me on Facebook saying:

"yo bro... if u need any help with your scoreless music publicity materials.... if there's anything u think i can do at all, lemme know... i just chucked my letter of resignation at my boss this afternoon..... :)"

God really provides! There just isn't any better Human Resource Officer in or out of this world! n_n

Oversubscribed In Just The First Week

Who would have thought that within the first week, not one but two of my class slots would be oversubscribed? Thank God for the overflowing abundance and I pray that He gives me the wisdom to be able to handle the excess. Time to order some Ikea stools!

Off To A Great Start!

Praise God for a great 1st session in the garage with the 1st group class to be conducted there. We had a wonderful time exploring the beginnings of learning to play the keyboard and everyone was sporting enough to literally 'play' along.

There were two guests who sat in just to experience a free session and I'm grateful that they are both keen to continue with the course, meaning 2 more new students!

Mel came over later, after I finished the class, with some of the frontage stickers all done. Big thanks to her for sponsoring the cost of making the frontage stickers... a whooping $168 in printed stickers for the shutters! She also did a lot of legwork looking for the hooks that we intend to use with the pegboards and I'm totally blown away by her efforts. I know how difficult it is to look for something that doesn't seem readily available at obvious hardware shops (eg. M3 screws).

Relak One Corner

One of the toughest things to find was a couch to fit the area we hope to designate as the 'Relax Area'. With the workbench and chairs taking up a lot of real estate, there's just not enough room to fit a standard sized sofa.

Thankfully, my contractor Naresh kept an eye open for me and he stumbled upon a possibility today. We shopped around and found that his initial suggestion wasn't really going to work. But as we were driving off, he suddenly recalled a large billboard we passed while driving to the furniture store.

We followed the instructions, made a few wrong turns, and finally ended up in Geylang Lor 23 at Brighton. Thank God he saw the billboard and suggested it because we found what must be one of the hardest sofa to find in Singapore... one that actually is less deep than the standard ones found all over the island.

We managed to gain favour with the people at Brighton and they waived off GST and delivery charges, a savings of about $85. The final cost of the 3-seater sofa was $299. Praise God!

Sofa (and pics of it) to come on Thurs.

1st Weekday Class To Start

Praise God! Got a call today from a person who saw a posting about Scoreless Music on Facebook and went to the site. Also from Revival Centre Church, she called me and signed up for a Wednesday class, together with her friend.

God indeed provides!

Working The Workbench

Finally! Found a working solution to cable organisation for the workbench. It's going to take a halfway decent handyman to get it all fixed up and I'm feeling good about the learning experience. Thank God for creative inspiration and Google!

Pics and links to sites coming soon. (2 more days to the first class in the garage. Woohoo!!)

Blessings Are Flowing, Overflowing...

22 June 2008. Despite not having everything ready, it was an awesome time to be able to share my joy and testimonies with my church family. They gathered all around me and the garage and prayed prayers of dedication and blessings and promises and we all say, "Yes Lord! Yes, amen!"

The very next day, God showed how wonderful and close His hand is in our affairs by bring through the garage doors people that gave monetary support that I'm sure are for a purpose that I will be notified of soon enough.

In a surprising twist of events, an old friend of my mum just happened to find out about the official launch and insisted on coming to offer his support. Of all things, he happens to stay at Punggol and is part of the RC there. Could God be opening yet another door for me? Only time will tell and we will continue to pray for His guidance in all things.
